This one-day course is designed to provide anyone who has little or no experience of painting with watercolours some basic skills in this fascinating medium. During the day, you will create both still life and landscape paintings, which will give you a practical understanding of colour mixing, composition and special techniques.

The intention is to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take your creativity further. Teaching is through step-by-step demonstrations and one-to-one tuition. At the end of the day, you will take your work home. If you don't have your own materials (brushes, paints and palettes), we can lend them to you for £8.

The workshop will be led by Paul Fennell BA (Hons). Paul obtained a Fine Art Degree from the University of Leeds and also holds a postgraduate Certificate of Education. He has been teaching for many years, and is a professional practitioner in a variety of genre; painting anything from murals to book illustrations. Paul’s work has been published by various magazines, including Artists’ and Illustrators’ Magazine.
