The Flower School London
The Judith Blacklock Flower School London is widely acclaimed as one of the UK’s most renowned institutes for giving excellent flower arranging courses. Judith takes pride in giving every student a personal learning experience in a warm and happy environment. She wants every student to develop their own potential, including those who believe they are not creative. Creativity comes from confidence, gained from understanding techniques and methods which never let you down. Judith believes everyone can succeed with flowers either as a pastime or as a profession. The ethos of this accredited flower school London is that those who really want to learn will, and become as passionate about flowers as she is.
Covid-19 Safety Measurements
We’ve made some changes to ensure that we’re not just complying with the Government Health & Safety Regulations, but that we’re also operating in the safest way, all whilst ensuring you have the best time possible here.
Here are the steps we have implemented:
- Classes will be limited to 8 people maximum
- There will be a separate entrance and exit to the school to keep a one way system
- The door will be kept open (weather permitting for circulation of air)
- Hand sanitiser will be available
- Regular hand washing intervals on arrival and during classes
- Face visors, disposable gloves and disposable aprons to be worn by tutors
- Individual work tables about one meter apart
- We ask if you are showing any signs of COVID-19 to not attend the course. We will take your temperature daily.
- Students will be asked to bring their own face masks to wear although we will have some in the school
- Students will be provided with disposable gloves and disposable aprons for classes each day
- We are asking students to eat away from the school in local establishments at lunch. The kitchen will not be in use.
- We’ll have individual bins, contactless payment only and other measures to limit contact
- Extra care when cleaning and sanitising between classes

Teaching at the Flower School
The teaching on the floristry courses takes place in a light, open and airy ground-floor space. Judith keeps to a limit of 8 students in every class to ensure an intimate, warm and caring atmosphere. Judith teaches on most courses and is supported by an exceptional team of experienced, qualified instructors who currently work in the flower industry. They also delight in passing on their experience, expertise and passion.
The floristry courses are taught in English. However assistance and documentation can be made available in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Diplomas are given on courses of three days or longer.
If you are not sure which course is most suitable for you, please feel free to call Chrissie at the school anytime to discuss various options. All classes are suitable for beginners with no previous experience. Those with more experience still gain a great deal.
We take great pride in our exceptional team of tutors. They are all professional floral designers and outstanding teachers and between them they have many decades of experience in all aspects of floristry.
They come from all over the UK to the flower school to teach their special expertise on the floristry courses. They are all qualified, experienced florists who have studied to Level 5 Master Diploma City & Guilds. They also have the most prestigious teaching qualifications and have a passion for passing on their knowledge and answering any questions that students may ask. They have created weddings and events, from concept to completion, at Hampton Court Palace, Ham House, The Hurlingham Club, Kensington Palace, Kew Gardens, Somerset House, Stoke Park and in many other prestigious locations. Two of our teachers are senior RHS Judges at Shows across the country including Chelsea Flower Show. Between them, our teachers have accumulated many gold medals at Chelsea.
