This course is designed for those who want to learn the essential skills of floristry and floral design. It is simply packed with information, tips and advice that are easy to remember. The atmosphere and informed teaching will make the sessions relaxed but conducive to learning. We often have students who are contemplating the two week intensive business course but because they have no prior experience are worried if it is right for them or if they have the skill. This course will take those students safely into the world of flowers and we are confident will allay any fears they may have had.

You will learn the essential skills through hands on practical work, powerpoint presentations and the huge amount of knowledge that our experienced tutors have at their finger tips.

Students are always eager to know how to price and cost their work, once they enter the semi-professional world of flowers. We have therefore decided to include basic information on this course.

You will cover:

- basic wiring skills

- handtied bouquets

- table designs

- flowers in a vase

- working on a large scale

Theoretical work will include:

- the basics of pricing your work

- knowing how to recognise fresh and good quality flowers

- the essentials for creating floral designs for weddings, events and parties

I had a fruitful and wonderful time at the school. It was a very condensed and informative experience. I was touched by the hospitality and at-home-atmosphere of all of the staff - Judith, Tom and Christina. I will try to create an opportunity to join your school again in the future.

Absolutely excellent course with great tutors, a lovely venue a very welcoming and warm ambience created by all the staff, plenty of 'hands on' practical work with beautiful flower and foliage choices, and an interesting and friendly mix of students from different backgrounds from all over the world. I had such a lovely three days – I enjoyed myself so much that I really didn't want the course to end! Being at work again really doesn't compare to the time I spent at your school. It's such an inspirational place to be and I feel as though I've learnt so much. I've been telling everyone all about it! I'll definitely start arranging flowers and creating floral designs in my spare time now and hopefully one day I may be able to turn it into a business too. Who knows!

Have just completed Three Days of Flowers at the Judith Blacklock Flower School and would thoroughly recommend the course and experience. From the moment I stepped into the school, I felt welcome and any apprehensions soon melted away. Judith and her team, Tom and Julia, as well as our tutor, Pip, on day two were all wonderful. The school is so well organised and the quality of flowers and sundries incredible. You will be amazed by how many creations you make and take home each day! You are even provided with sturdy bags to get your flowers home safely. Judith is an incredible teacher: friendly, patient, passionate, encouraging, generous and good fun. Best of all she can confidently teach the left handed amongst us! Thanks Judith and I hope one day to take another course with you.

I have just completed the Three Days of Flowers course with Judith and her team and I cannot recommend it enough. This course is perfect for those who want to learn about the main aspects floral design, but in a shorter space of time. The level of care in ensuring the class were understanding the steps of each floral design was extremely high. Judith and her team always ensured that we felt comfortable to ask questions and that we worked at our own pace. From initially feeling quite unsure of my abilities and skills, after 3 days of learning, I now feel confident to work with flowers and use my imagination to create my own designs. I highly recommend it and will be returning to the school soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed three days of learning from Judith and Pip, working with the freshest of blooms and interesting foliage. The lessons were packed with techniques and ideas from traditional handtieds, corsages, round and linear table arrangements, hanging arrangements to simple contemporary styles...most of which were very much hands on and well guided. Love her books too!

I attended Judith's 3 days of flowers course 8-10 June 2016. I had the most amazing time and enjoyed absolutely every minute of it. Being a novice to floristry I was feeling a little nervous but was very quickly put at ease by Judith's teaching style and having Tom on hand to help out as well. We created a number of individual arrangements that we were able to take home and 2 larger designs as a group. Judith and Tom taught us how to select and condition flowers to make sure our arrangements lasted as long as possible and also demonstrated techniques for us to try at home. A very informative trip to New Covent Garden flower market was also included. Also thanks to Julia for making sure that everything ran smoothly for us. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in flowers at any level. I will certainly be booking another course in the future.
