3rd May 2024

15th June 2024

10th August 2024

10.30am – 3.30pm

All flowers and materials included. Tea and coffee provided. (Lunch not included)

An intensive mix of practical work and inspiration. There are now a huge range of outlets where you can buy your flowers – from the supermarket to the high-end florist. You will learn where to go, how to recognise fresh flowers and how to make them last.

The course will start with an understanding of the basic elements and principles of design. These will help you to understand where you may have been going wrong in the past. Current trends and styles in floral design will be discussed including the use of foam and locally grown flowers.

You are welcome to bring images of any floral designs you have created or vases that are difficult to use to the class. This flower arranging course, which has been designed for those relatively inexperienced with flowers will help you to arrange flowers at home with confidence and flair.

For the practical work you will first make a table centrepiece with a structured formula to which you can add your own flair and individuality. We also show you all the different ways to arrange your stems in place – using pinholders, chicken wire, tape and foam. After lunch at one of the many local places in this idyllic part of Knightsbridge you will learn how to choose the mix of flowers that makes the perfect handtied with a spiral of stems to impress all.

Thank you for a wonderful day on Friday. It was lovely to be back at the school and a joy to work with such beautiful flowers. I think we were all amazed at what we achieved, I know I was. Your knowledge, encouragement and excellent tuition underpinned our efforts and I took so much away from the course: not only my floral efforts and knowledge, but also a growing passion for working with flowers.

  2. Barry

Just a quick note to say thank you for a fantastic day on Friday! It was lovely on so many levels! The course is so informative and the results were both surprising and beautiful!

Thank you Judith and Tom for a great day. Lovely location, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful flowers to work with. Ideal for beginners wanting to learn more; plenty of opportunity to ask questions and lots of help given along the way. Can’t wait to go back again for another class. Thank you!

  5. Camilla Hayes

My fiancé gave me a present of the day course for my birthday and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Judith is so personable and fun as well as being extremely knowledgeable. All my friends were so impressed with my creations that I brought home. What a wonderful day, thank you!!

  6. Saffron Allan

WOW! So much more than anticipated. Pure gorgeous. 100% recommend it. You never know what to expect, but this knocked it all.

  7. Anne Loftus

Thoroughly enjoyed my day at the flower school, Judith and her staff were so welcoming. Our topics for the day were a table centrepiece and a handtied bunch of flowers, Judith was totally hands on and assisted every student individually, an excellent teacher and such a lovely lady. The flowers used were beautiful and my creations remained intact despite my 3 hour journey home via tube and train.

  8. Rachel Petty

Judith is an absolutely wonderful teacher and I would highly recommend her courses. She teaches in a really clear way, always on hand to help and full of useful information. There wasn’t anything we asked that she couldn’t answer! The location of the school is to die for, and the flowers we used were top quality. I came away feeling confident that I could arrange flowers at home after only one day.
